CCMT 2016 Eligibility Criteria – The Eligibility Criteria of CCMT 2016 is detailed on this page for the M.Tech applicants participating in CCMT 2016 for the M.Tech admissions at the various NITs through the common counselling of CCMT 2016. Candidates can check the guidelines that make up 
the CCMT Eligibility Criteria and ensure they meet all the specified CCMT 2016 Eligibility Criteria before they apply. It is to be noted that no checks are performed by the authorities to verify the eligibility during CCMT 2016 registrations. CCMT 2016 Eligibility Criteria:
  • Candidates must be Indian Nationals
  • Candidates must have a valid GATE Score in the year 2015 or 2016
  • All OC/OB Candidates must have scored at least 6.5 CGPA (on a 10-point scale) or 60% ( 6.0 CGPA) in aggregate in all semesters of the qualifying degree
  • SC/ST Candidates must have scored at least  6.0 CGPA (on a 10-point scale) or 55% in aggregate in all semesters of the qualifying degree.
  • For PWD candidates the CCMT 2016 Criterion will be as per their category - OC/OB/SC/ST
  • For final year students - all exams should have been completed by July 15, 2016 and B. Tech/ M .Sc/ MCA results should have been declared with NO backlog papers.
  • Such candidates must have obtained 60% marks/6.5 CGPA till pre-final semester. A certificate to that effect and Mark sheet/Grade card till pre-final semester should be submitted at the Reporting Centre during document verification
  • For every programme eligibility is defined based on certain combinations of degree-disciplines and GATE papers. candidates must check carefully the details of the seat matrix before applying. Click hereto check the seat mapping for each institiute.
Some guidelines for CCMT 2016 Eligibility Criteria:
  • Conversion from CGPA to percentage or vice versa given by individual institute will not be considered / allowed.
  • Only certain combinations of eligibility degree disciplines and GATE subjects are allowed for the programmes as specified.
  • Certain programmes have mandatory eligibility criterion like Mathematics in 10+2 or other such specifications.
  • Applicants must ensure they meet the CCMT 2016 Eligibility Criteria if mentioned specifically before filling as such regulations are not checked during CCMT 2016 registrations.

1. Mathematics & Physics in 10+2 level.
2. Minimum two courses in computer/ electronics if M.Sc (Physics)/ M.Sc (Electronics)/M.Sc(Computer Science) /MCA/MSc (Engineering Physics)/M.Sc. (Radio Physics & Electronics).
Electronics design and Manufacturing
1.Mathematics & Physics in 10+2 level.
2.Minimum two courses in Electronics if M.Sc (Electronics)/  MSc (Engineering Physics)/ M.Sc. (Radio Physics & Electronics)
Renewable Energy & Energy Management
1. Mathematics & Physics in 10+2 level
2. Minimum two courses in Electrical if PH
VLSI Design and Embedded system
1. Mathematics & Physics in 10+2 level.
2. Minimum two courses in electronics if M.Sc (Physics) /M.Sc (Electronics)/M.SC (Radio Physics & Electronics).
All M.Tech. Programmes
Candidates must have passed the prescribed qualifying exam with a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of at least 6.5 in the 0-10 scale grading system, OR not less than 60% marks in the aggregate (taking into account the marks scored in all the subjects of all the public/university examinations conducted during the entire prescribed period for the degree programme).
However, this prescribed minimum shall be a CGPA of 6.0 OR 55% marks in the aggregate for SC/ST candidates
Chemical Engineering
Candidate should have Mathematics in 10+2 level.
Environmental Science & Technology
Mathematics as a subject in 10+2 and degree level with at least 40% marks
Chemical Engineering
Candidate with AMIE(I)/AMIIChE must have 2 years of Professional Experience
Corrosion Science and Technology
Candidate with AIC(I) must have 2 years of Professional Experience

Passed 10+2 level with at least 40% marks in Mathematics

Material Science And Engineering
M.Sc. candidate must have studied Mathematics at graduation level
Environmental Engineering
M.Sc candidate must have studied Mathematics at graduation level
All Programmes
B. Tech/ M. Sc/ MCA results declared with 60% marks/6.5 CGPA obtained for graduated students.

For Fianl year students: B. tech/ M .Sc/ MCA results declared with NO backlog papers and 60% marks/6.5 CGPA obtained till pre-final semester provided all exams should have been completed by July 15, 2016 for graduating students with a certificate to that effect and marksheet/grade card till pre-final semester

Mathematics at 10+2 level is mandatory for all courses; to be especially to be noted by students with B-Tech in Bio-Technology and Mining Engineering who may not have mathematics at 10+2 level and hence are not eligible for any course at NIT Rourkela.
Candidates with science background should have Mathematics both at +2 and +3 examinations

All Programmes
6.5 CGPA (on a 10-point scale) or 60% marks for OC/OB whereas 6.0 CGPA (on a 10-point scale) or 55% marks in case of SC/ST candidates in the qualifying degree. The above mentioned CGPA/Percentage should be aggregate based on all semesters. If the University/Institute is following GRADE system, only CGPA should be considered for eligibility. Conversion from CGPA to marks is not acceptable.
Aggregate of all semesters should also be equal or more than the eligibility specified in terms of Percentage or CGPA for respective categories.
All M.Tech/ M.Plan Programmes
Candidates seeking admission to M. Tech./M.Plan degree programme at NIT Calicut should have completed and passed regular full time B.E./B.Tech. degree in an appropriate branch from an approved Institute/University with minimum 60% marks (or CGPA 6.5/10) in aggregate of all semesters/years and for SC/ST candidates 55% marks (or CGPA 6.0/10) in aggregate of all semesters/years.
Maximum Age for admission to M.Tech/M.Plan programme is 40 years

Candidates applying for M. Tech admission with MCA must also have Ist class MCA degree
Nanotechnology
Candidate who has qualified in XE must have passed in  section C

 Aggregate of all semesters should also be equal or more than the eligibility specified in terms of Percentage or CGPA for respective categories

A candidate must have cleared/completed A & B Sections of the examination conducted by Institution of Engineers (India), Calcutta, or I.E.T.E. Graduate Examination conducted by the Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers, New Delhi, in the relevant branch or equivalent examinations of Professional Societies, recognized by MHRD / UPSC / AICTE (e.g. AMIE by Institution of Engineers-India, AMICE by the Institute of Civil Engineers-India) and must possess at least five years research / professional experience.
