JEE Main 2016 will be held on April 3, 2016 (Offline/Pen & Paper Based) and on April 9 and 10, 2016 (Online/Computer Based). After declaration of score, CBSE will announce the All India JEE Main Rank (composite score of JEE Main score and class XII board result marks with a weightage of 60:40 for the two scores) of candidates secured in JEE Main 2016. JEE Main 2016 Rank List will be declared by the CBSE on or before June 30, 2016.

In 2015, Sankalp Gaur from Pune secured AIR 1 in JEE Main. He obtained a score of 345 out of 360. Admissions to NITs were closed at 41657 (open state) at National Institute of Technology Arunachal Pradesh at Bio Technology. A total of 23,359 seats were allotted across 31 NITs, 18 IIITs and 18 GFTIs.

Nearly 13 lakh candidates are expected to appear in JEE Main 2016 out of which top 2 lakh candidates will be eligible to appear in JEE Advanced 2016.
